AFCON 2021 qualifying rounds completed yesterday, after Sierra Leone defeated Benin in the last match to takeover second position in Group L.

The AFCON was scheduled to play on July, because of the Corona virus it has been rescheduled to commence on 9 January to 6 February 2022. It is said to be the 33rd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Cameroon are to host the tournament which will consist of 24 teams from 1 confederation. It will be play in six stadiums and five venues.
Below are the six stadiums and five selected.
1. Paul Biya Stadium and Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo (Yaounde)
2. Japoma Stadium (Douala)
3. Limbe Stadium (Limbe)
4. Kouekong Stadium (Bafoussam)
5. Roumde Adjia Stadium (Garoua).
Twenty four (24) teams qualified for the AFCON 2021 including the host team. Two of the teams are yet to make their appearance for the tournament. Comoros and Gambia will appear in the AFCON group stage for the first time ever.

The 24 teams will be drawn into six groups of four teams each. After the group, the two top teams from each groups and the four highest ranked third placed teams will advance to the next stage. The round of sixteen winners will advance to the quarter final, and the quarter final winners will advance to semi final. The two semi final winners will advance to the final and the other two will play in a third place match.
