Over 4.6 million provided for Sierra Leone Covid-19 relief



 The European Union has provided 4.6 million euros through the World Bank to the government of Sierra Leone.

National Commission for Social action (NaCSA) is overseeing distribution of the cash through the local banks. Each beneficiary is receiving le 1,309,000 as support.

Umaru Damon Samai (NaCSA's communication officer) said petty traders, workers in the hospital industry, and people in some sectors whose job were affected by the pandemic are benefiting from this present relief package.

He stated that the cash transfer started on Saturday 8th May, 2021 and will last for 14 days.
